Age 91, passed away Monday, January 26, 1998. He was born May 23, 1906, in Black Creek, son of the late Nickolas and Theresa (Heigl) Helein. On August 28, 1935, he married Laura Piller in Medford, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death August 15, 1967. William farmed in Black Creek until his retirement in 1968. He then built a home in Black Creek and resided there until 1989, when he moved to Seymour and made his home with his granddaughter and family, Bev and Cliff Reis. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek.
Survivors include: a son, Larry (Jean) Helein, Seymour; a daughter, Audrey (Gene) Burmeister, Green Bay; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren: Bev (Cliff) Reis, Chad, Laurie and Wayne, Seymour; Terry (Barb) Helein, Katie and Andy, Black Creek; JoAnne (Ken) Timm, Amanda, Mark and Kelly, Seymour; Raquel (Tom) Kinnard, Ashtin and Brett, Green Bay; Kevin Burmeister, Green Bay; Brian Burmeister, Stevens Point; two sisters: Ann Heinz, Appleton; Nora (Leonard) Van Toll, Kimberly; brother-in-law, Elmer (Irene) Piller, Neenah; sisters-in-law: Clarabelle (Don) Kossel, Oshkosh; Doris (Robert) McQueen, Portland, Oregon; Fern (George) Mindorff, Las Vegas, Nevada; Louise Piller, Watertown; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: John, Nickolas and Frank Helein; two sisters: Mary Wieland and Theresa Nieland.
Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, and after 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek, until the time of services at 11 a.m., with Father Paul Paider. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
