- Evers, Richard A.
Rich Evers was called to his eternal rest while at their cottage in Pickerel on August 24, 2015 at the age of 90. Rich was born April 6, 1925 in the Town of Vandenbroek, Wisconsin to the late Martin and Mary (Vanderloop) Evers. He proudly served his country during WWII. Rich was a member of the Freedom VFW Post 7692. He married Dorothy DeWildt on November 9, 1946 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute. Rich was a farmer in the town of Grand Chute and was still living on the home farm. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, playing cards, going to the Casino and being at their cottage in Pickerel. Rich loved having family and friends to their home and cottage.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy (DeWildt) Evers; children and grand-children: David (Alice) Evers of Combined Locks and Kevin, Tim, Julie and Chad; Gary (Debra) Evers of Kaukauna and Melissa, Amy and Ric; Carol (Steve) Warner of Darboy and Jeff, Keith, Brian, Matt and Dan; Darlene (Les) Seggelink of Kaukauna and Eric, Jessica and Alicia; Linda (Roy) Baumruk of Grand Chute and Nicole; Marty (Sue) Evers of Appleton and Rebecca, Deshonda, Michael, James, Rachael and Martin; and Crystal DeWildt (formerly Mary Evers) (special friend Dean Fahrbach) of Seymour and Jayson and Kallista; and Ashley (daughter of Bruce Evers); 48 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Rose (Joe) Dietzen, Norbert (Helen) Evers, Margaret Christensian, Sister Cecil Evers, Jerome (Lois) Evers, Tom (Sue) Evers and Father Len Evers; and sisters-in-law: Ione Schommer and Joyce McCann. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Bruce Evers; three infant children: Carol, Gary and Joseph; infant great grandchild Nathan; parents Martin and Mary (Vander Loop) Evers; in-laws: George and Anna (Van Munn) DeWildt; siblings: Geraldine (Elmer) Theunis, Don Christensian, Jerome, Margaret, Cecilia, Bertilla and Martha Evers; brothers & sisters-in-law; Anna (Sylvester) Vanden Boogard, Hank, Joseph, Clementh DeWildt, Adrian (Catherine) DeWildt, Paul Schommer and Ron McCann.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 27, 2015 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 12:00 Noon until time of Mass at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate and Rich's brother, Rev. Len Evers will concelebrate. The Freedom V.F.W. Post 7692 will conduct military rites immediately following Mass.
