- Cynthia "Cindy" Lee (Olson) Bubolz died peacefully with her husband and children at her side at the age of 56 on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 in the Oncology unit of Appleton Medical Center, Appleton, WI. She was born on May 14th, 1956 and raised in Menasha, WI by her loving parents, Larry V. Olson, Sr. and Betty J. (Uren) Olson.
After an exciting childhood with two parents, five siblings, and numerous lifelong friends, Cindy graduated from Menasha Senior High School in June 1974 and enlisted into the Air Force. She was medically and honorably discharged a short time later. On June 10th, 1984, Cindy married her soul mate, Kevin Lowell Bubolz in Appleton, WI. A few years later, they had two children, Emilie Katherine (1987) and Michael Kevin (1989). She spent every second of her life being the best daughter, sister, wife, and mother she could possibly be.
Cindy had a love for life and a way of always exceeding expectations. When presented with a challenge, she always faced it with her famous saying, "we'll find a way." While balancing her career and family life, she also worked diligently on her education and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Lakeland College. She never turned away anyone who was in need of a hug and impeccably sound advice, an ounce of "Olson humor," or a little bit of down time to work on craft projects together. Cindy always had to have her mind and hands busy; she loved to spend her time quilting, creating fused glass art, and chatting with family and friends. Cindy worked to live, but enjoyed her career as a Lean Coordinator at U.S. Venture, Inc. in Appleton, WI.
Everywhere she went, she always had a reputation for her enthusiastic and genuine smile, which will live on in the hearts of many. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Olson. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Kevin Bubolz, and also by her two children: Emilie (Aaron) Steinmann of Madison; and Michael (Danielle) Bubolz of Milwaukee. Cindy is survived by her father, Larry V. Olson, Sr. and her siblings: Larry (Linda) Olson, Jr. of Menasha; Terry (Maria) Olson of Lawrenceburg, KY; Julie (Gene) Nackers of Neenah; Scott (David) Olson of Milan, TN; and Michael (Lynn) Olson of Madison. She loved and was loved by all who had a chance to know her.
A memorial service will be held 6:00pm at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday, January 3rd, 2013. Cindy's family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00pm until the hour of service. Full military honors will conclude the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Cindy's name.
