- Irene Bednarowski, age 94, of River Falls, WI, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Kinnic Long Term Care in River Falls. She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on July 16, 1915; daughter of William and Anna (Verhoven) Smith. Irene married Paul Bednarowski at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Appleton on June 12, 1937. In Irene's younger years she enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Irene was known for getting along with everybody, and she prayed daily for everyone she knew. She thanked God daily for her many blessings. Family and friends brought her the most joy. She will be greatly missed. Irene is survived by her three sons: Keith (Mary) of Minneapolis, MN, Paul (Lois) of Fairhope, AL, and Tom (Mary) of River Falls, WI; eight grandchildren: Betsy (Jason) Conway, Paul (Sonia) Bednarowski, Katy (Tony) Madson, Sara (Ted) Sullivan, Karen (Ronald) Mullins, Paul (Shannon) Bednarowski, Mollie and Erin Bednarowski; ten great-grandchildren; further survived by many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; three brothers and two sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, River Falls, with Father Gerald Harris officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Menasha. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service all on Thursday at church.
