- Marjorie Clarice Larson, 82, of LCO died Nov. 25 at her home in Couderay.
She was born Sept 22, 1922 in Underhill, Wis., the daughter of James and Ann (Wilson) Bullis. She was the oldest of five children. She was a vibrant, caring woman with an outgoing personality and a love of life. She lived in several places in southern Wisconsin and for a while in southern California caring for family members, as she did her whole life.
She married Peter "Pete" G. Larson on Dec. 4, 1945 in Oconto, Wis. They had four sons: Frank, Peter, Steve, and Stony. They lived in Milwaukee (where Frank and Steve were born), Portland, Ore. (where Peter was born), and Oconto (where Stony was born). The couple moved to Lac Courte Oreilles with their sons in 1968 and moved into Petes sister Jennies home, which later became their home. In this home, they raised their sons and grandchildren. Marge worked at Frogg Hollow, the Community Action Program in Reserve, and tended bar at the Blue Spruce and the LCO Athletic Club, "The Clubhouse," for many years. They were founding members of the LCO Athletic Club.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need. The love she carried for her sons, grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren was obvious. She will be greatly missed. Her love will carry on in those who knew and loved her always.
She is survived by her sons, Francis "Frank" (Karen) Larson of Ashland and Preston S. "Stony" (Charlene) Larson of LCO; grandchildren Michelle (Joe) Davidson of Ashland, Christopher Larson of LCO, Preston "Stony" (Tracy) Larson of Norman, Okla., Ahsinees Larson of LCO, Rhieanna Larson of St. Louis Park, Minn. and Jeremy Larson of Ashland; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons Peter J. and Stephen J. Larson; brothers Floyd, Terry, and Jeff Bullis; and sister Sharon Shallow.
