    • Elaine M. Miller, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Oakwood Manor with her family by her side. She was born on January 7, 1927 in Oshkosh, WI to Ray and Mamie (Lemke) Wynen. She was married to James “Jim” Miller on November 17, 1950 in Oshkosh, WI.
      Elaine graduated from Oshkosh High School as a member of the class of 1944. She also helped planning several of the class reunions. Elaine was a secretary most of her working career, working at Universal Motor Company from 1944-1961, Roosevelt School form 1961-1967, Perry Tipler Middle School from 1967-1977, and then School District Business office from 1977 until her retirement on June 30, 1990.
      She was a long term member of Peace Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School there for 25 years, was a member of many committees; served as secretary of the worship committee for 30 years, secretary of the personal and mutual ministry committee, a member of the Peace Lutheran Church women, servicing in various offices throughout the years, and the Mary Circle, serving as a Bible study leader for over 20 years. Elaine was also a member of the Professional Secretaries Association from 1973-1990 where she achieved the certification of Professional Secretary rating in 1974.
      Elaine is survived by her son, Thomas Miller; sister, Ellen Kramer; grandson, Colton Miller; brother in law Donald (June) Miller; and sister in law, Phyllis (Fritz) Willert. She is further survived by her special friends Chris Miller and Charlotte Yearwood, cousins, many other friends, nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Miller; brothers in law, Dale Kramer and Wallace Miller; and sisters in law, Audrey Fusk and Shirley Miller.
      A funeral service for Elaine will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church (240 W 9th Ave.) Visitation will be held at church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
