    • Emma G. Braun, 92, a former Kohler resident, died Monday, Feb. 29, 1988 at Benedictine Health Center in Duluth, Minnesota. She was born Jan. 7, 1896 at Hilbert, and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Britten Gehl. On June 26, 1917, she and Anton A. Braun were married at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert. Mr. Braun preceded her in death on July 8, 1969. Mrs. Braun was a charter member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Kohler; the St. Ann’s Altar Society, Kohler Women’s Club and the Oblate of St. Benedict of St. John Abbey, Collegeville, Minnesota. She is survived by four daughters, Sister Joan and Sister Grace Marie, both of Duluth, Minnesota; Sister Mary Carol, Washington, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mathilda (Othmar) Gilsdorf, Hilbert and Mrs. Rosamund (Roland) Kees, Sheboygan Falls; and two brothers; Aloysius Gehl, Sheboygan Falls and Joseph Gehl, Hilbert. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Kohler. The Rev. Louis J. Wilimeck, pastor, will be the celebrant. The burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery. Chilton Times Journal – March 3, 1988
