Elaine Josephine Dart, 87, passed away on June 15, 2024 in Appleton, WI. She was born to Henry and Josephine (Gillis) Heraly on November 21, 1936 in Casco, WI.
Elaine married the love of her life, Ervin August Dart, on September 7, 1957. Together, they owned Forester Banquet Hall in Appleton for over 17 years and helped their community celebrate countless joyous occasions. Elaine’s loving nature extended beyond the banquet hall, as she transitioned to working as a caretaker for Home Instead. It was during this time that Elaine’s exceptional commitment to seniors was recognized, earning her the title of regional CAREgiver of the Year.
Elaine loved to cook and had a particular fondness for traditional Belgian food. She delighted in lively games of bingo and cards, cherishing each moment spent with loved ones.
Elaine is survived by her children Jeffery (Ann Marie) Dart, Randall Dart, Scott (Tana) Dart and Jolene (Jon Buchli) Dart; grandchildren Brandon Dart, Morgan Dart Borer, Amberly Dupre, Erica (Payton) Cumings, Shauna (AJ) Erdmann, Austin Dart, Michealla Dart; nine great- grandchildren; her brother Hank (Doris) Heraly; sisters-in-laws Mary Ann Heraly; Rita Heraly; Jo-Ann Heraly and Sue Christensen and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son Michael; brothers LeRoy, Loyd, Elroy “Roy”, Carl, Al and Joey; Joshua and Kaylana Dart.
Services to honor Elaine’s life will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. in Appleton on June 25, 2024, starting at 4:00 PM with visitation until 7:00 PM. Additional visitation will take place on June 26th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 McDonald St. from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating, with luncheon to follow at Wichmann Funeral Home.
