    • MADISON-Betty Jane Reis, age 87, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Skaalen Home in Stoughton. She was born on November 25, 1926, in Appleton, the daughter of August F. and Clara A. (Hensel) Noffke. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Reis on September 5, 1958, in Appleton. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2002. Betty Jane was a 1944 graduate of Appleton High School. She held clerical positions with AAL in Appleton, the state of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She retired in 1990. Betty Jane was a collector of coins and stamps. Eddie and Betty traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Duaine) Smithback; two grandchildren, Felipe (Jennifer) Banuelos and Leticia (Andrew) La Voy; seven great-grandchildren, Brianna (NoahYanzer), Brady, Brynna, Beckham, Isabelle, Mariana, Lucia and a great-great-grandchild, Briar. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

      Funeral services will be held at MOUNT OLIVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 110 N. Whitney Way, Madison, WI., at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014, with Pastor Jason Zobel presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
