- Germaine G. Werner, age 85, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. She was born April 2, 1925, the daughter of the late John and Geraldine (Miller) Gerrits. On January 4, 1945, she married her late husband, Jerome Werner. They shared 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2002. Germaine loved children especially her grandchildren, loved to go out to eat with her children and playing sheepshead with her brothers, sisters and her Hallmark family.
Germaine is lovingly survived by her children: Darlene (Larry) Hansen of Greenville; grandsons: Jeremy (Renee) Hansen of Hortonville and Travis (Lisa) Hansen of Greenville; great-grandson, Drake Hansen, special niece, Anita (Chuck) Durand of Mountain Home, Idaho, who made a home with Germaine for a time; brothers and sisters: Bob (Millie) Gerrits of Appleton, Don (Lillian) Gerrits of Kaukauna, Clarice Islinger of Appleton, Roger Gerrits of Gresham, Vernadine (Jim) Welch of Little Chute, Darlene Romenesko of Little Chute, sisters-in-law: Marcella Schwahn, Doris (Elton) Lorenz, Evelyn Krueger; brother-in-law, Don Evers of Little Chute and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Germaine was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Gerrits; sisters, Elaine Evers and Audrey Gerrits, brothers-in-law: Frank Islinger, Lee Romenesko, Earl Van Handel, Wally Krueger, Clarence Schwahn and sister-in-law, Leona (Al) McClone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Holy Spirit Parish in Darboy, W2796 Cty Road KK, with Fr. David Beaudry officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. The committal will be held at Holy Name Cemetery.
Germaine's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all her extended family at Hallmark. Germaine treasured all the love and support from everyone there. Also a special thanks to Dr. William Guenther for all his exceptional care for Germaine.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Mom, we know you're finally at peace with Dad. Please give him a hug and kiss from all of us.
