      Van Dinter, Effie Effie Van Dinter, 95, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Brewster Village in Appleton. She was born in Seymour, Wis., on March 2, 1912, to the late John and Lenora (Vander Hoff) Arps. She was united in marriage to Henry Van Dinter on Oct. 8, 1930, in Appleton. Effie enjoyed needlepoint, knitting and making her own clothing. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church of Appleton.

      Effie is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Charles) Davidson, Charlotte N.C.; Kristen Babe, Greenfield; a son, Gerald (Lorraine) Van Dinter, New London; a daughter-in-law, Regina Van Dinter; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

      She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; two sons, Henry Jr. and Robert; one sister, Edna Van Dinter; and one brother, Milton Arps.

      Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at 11 a.m. Father Michael O'Rourke will be officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

      In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
