      Van Groll, John P.

      John P. Van Groll, age 88, of Appleton died peacefully Sunday morning, March 7, 2004 at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute. He was born October 1, 1915 son of Peter and Mary (Evers) Van Groll. John married Martha Joosten May 21, 1940 and she preceded him in death March 14, 1999. Mr. and Mrs. Van Groll made their home and farmed in the Town of Grand Chute for 40 years before retiring in 1980. John was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He enjoyed his family and farming.

      Mr. Van Groll is survived by his four children: Mary (Dale) Rohm, Greenville; Martin (Char) Van Groll and Judy (James) Van Handel both of Appleton; Monica (Guy) Hanagan, Kaukauna; 9 grandchildren: Jason (Dawn) and Melinda Rohm, Chad Van Groll, Angie (Robert) Heibler, Jermey Van Groll, Cindy (Michael) Techlin, Kevin Van Handel, Kris (Scott) Hebbring and Jeff Hanagan; 2 great grandchildren: Brandon and Jacob Van Groll; a special nephew, James (Bobbie) Van Groll and their children; Benjamin, Robbie and Barbara, Kaukauna and a sister and brother-in-law, Delia and Gene Lamers, Darboy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

      He was preceded in death by his parents: Peter and Mary Van Groll; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law; Henry and Dora Van Groll, William and Barbara Van Groll and Joseph and Mary Van Groll; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law: Anthony and Mary Feldkamp and Margaret Van Groll; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Hattie (Hendricks) Joosten; 6 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law; Francis, Henry (Lauretta), John (Olive), Frank and Stephen Joosten, Richard and Anna Vander Heiden.

      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home form 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the mass. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Father Falk and the staff at Parkside Care Center.

      You will always be our inspiration and strength. Thank you for everything you have done for us. We will cherish the memories. You will be missed. Love your family.
