Bruce William Carew passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 on his 70th birthday. Bruce was born in Rock Island, IL, but was a life long Wisconsin resident. He attended St. Joe’s grade school and Xavier High School where he met his high school sweetheart and wife, Mary Kris Seidl. Bruce was a veteran of the US Army and graduated from UW-Oshkosh. He was a proud father to Kevin (Heather) and Keith (Jess) Carew. He was a very proud “grumpa” to his 3 grandchildren: Charleigh, Hannah, and Liam. He loved to be silly with them and would always do anything to make them smile or laugh.

Bruce worked with his dad in the insurance business, managed a Radio Shack, and was an over the road truck driver. He retired in 2005 and stayed home to care for his father-in-law, Frank. Bruce enjoyed his retirement and always loved being home. He enjoyed going on walks with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was known to fix things around the house and could often be found relaxing in front of his computer with his can of Pepsi.

Bruce was friendly to those who knew him and always generous with his time, attention, and anything else he had. Although he was a fairly private person, his good heart always shone through and to truly know him was to love him.

In addition to his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, Bruce is survived by his siblings: Lynn (Dee) Dyer, Amy (Mark) Waltz, and Dave (Lisa) Carew; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bruce is further survived by sisters-in-law: Nancy Seidl, Ann Arndt and his brother-in-law, Dave (Cathie) Seidl. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Ginny Carew; his sister, Mary Carew; his in-laws: Frank and Catherine Seidl; and two brothers-in-law: Fran Seidl and Bob Arndt.

Per Bruce’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Bruce has always shown incredible dedication to his family and he would not want his loved ones to agonize over this loss. He lived how he wanted to live and made it known to his family that he was happy with his life. Bruce would like those affected by this loss to honor his memory by focusing on the good times while continuing to make more. He is loved and he will be miss
