- Gerald F. Woeckner 90, Appleton passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on April 15, 2017 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born to the late Albert and Louise (Dragewske) Woeckner on October 13, 1926 in Menasha, WI. He proudly served in the United States Army stationed in the Philippines during WWII. He married the love of his life Geraldine Rickert in 1949 and they had 42 wonderful years together. They were lovingly referred to as " Jerry & Jerry "
Gerald worked at Menasha Woodenware, then as a watchmaker with his father at Woeckner's Jewelry downtown Neenah. Later at Banta Corp and then for over 25 years as an Electrician with Kimberly Clark Corp. After retiring from KC, Gerald worked part time for many years mowing lawn with the grounds crew at Butte des Morts Country Club. We suspect, that was his ultimate dream job!
Gerald enjoyed hunting and fishing especially on the Wolf River and up north at deer camp. He also enjoyed cooking, gardening, tennis, golfing and cheering on the Cubs. He bowled for over 20 years with his KC-Team and the highlight of their time together was qualifying to be on the Bowling for Dollars TV show in Milwaukee. The thing he enjoyed most of all was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children; Tim (Suzanna Mattson) Woeckner, Neenah, Kathy Swan Kemps, Appleton, Mary Mullen, Menasha, Tom (Wendy Steward) Woeckner, Appleton. Grandchildren; Kaarin Swan, Kelsey (Justin) Geiger, Katrina (fiancé Jason) Swan, Kimberly Kemps, Laurel Mullen, Reece Mullen, Paige Woeckner, Bryce Woeckner, Trent Woeckner, and Aaron Steward. Great grandchildren; Carson Mattson and Harper Spain, brother; Les Woeckner, Sister and Brother-in-laws; Ginette Rickert, Marilyn Bowers and Sue (Tom) Harris along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, parents Albert and Louise, son Daniel Woeckner, grandson; Tim (TJ) Woeckner, granddaughter; Alyssa Steward, sister Eileen Mais, in-laws; Eugene and Bernice Rickert, Jack Rickert, John Bowers and Nelda Woeckner, and nephew John Rickert.
