  ALDEN (AL) CHAPMAN Smith, II Greensboro Alden (Al) Chapman Smith, II, 79, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Koenig officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Saint Pius The Tenth Catholic Church. Family visitation will be held just prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. Al was born in New London, WI to the late Alden and Marion Driessen Smith. He was a graduate of Stetson University and worked in the rubber industry for many years. He retired as Division Manager at Buckeye Rubber and Packing. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marilyn Sears Smith. Al is survived by his daughter, Michele Smith McGarry and husband Daniel of Springfield, PA; grandsons, Chase, Logan and Holden McGarry all of Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, North Carolina 27405 in memory of Alden Smith.
