    • Addison "Hoppy" Hoppens of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, November 9, 2007 at his residence. He was 83 years old.

      He was born on May 9, 1924 in Marinette, Wi to Sabastian and Elsie (nee Boivin) Hoppens. He married Gladys Ruggles on June 30, 1951 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marinette.

      Hoppy owned his own painting business, and belonged to the painters union. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and building birdhouses. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, V.F.W. Post 9496 in Menomonee Falls, and the D.A.V.

      He is survived by his 4 children, Dawn (Leon) Zorko of Union Grove, Jeff (Charlene Barnes) of St. Lawrence, Jim (Rick Wheeler) of New Jersey, and Lisa (John) Williams of St. Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Hoppy is further survived by other relatives and friends.

      He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Francis and Larry, sisters, Elaine, Joyce, Gladys, and Gladys, and Cecelia.

      Funeral services will be held Monday, November 12, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, (824 Union Street) Hartford, with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

      Interment will be at South Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
