- Clarence Van Gompel

Age 61, died 6:15 p.m. Wednesday after an extended illness. He was born February 18, 1915 in the Town of Vanden Broek. He had been employed with the Giddings and Lewis Corporation prior to his illness. Mr. Van Gompel served in the armed forces during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two daughters; Mrs. Steven (June) Sebert, Combined Locks; and Mrs. James (Jane) Nechodom, Appleton; ttwo sons; David, Stoughton, and Alan, Appleton; four brothers: Henry, Kaukauna; Richard and Elmer, both of Little Chute; James, Combined Locks; five sisters: Mrs. John (Rose) Plach, Appleton; Mrs. James (Angeline) Schroeder, Appleton; Mrs. Oscar (Mayme) Huss, Freedom; Mrs. Ted (Verona) Gloudemans, Kimberly; and Mrs. Maureanus (Lucille) Vanden Wyngaard, Kimberly; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jerrilyn in 1947. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. Monsignor James VandenHogen officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday. There will be a prayer service 7:30 Friday evening. Military rites will be immediately after the service at the church. A memorial fund has been established.
