• Notes

  In 1918, at the time of the 1st World War, George, Albert & Simon all enlisted. The train was full of young men all going to Milwaukee to be inducted. Anton was only 14 but wanted to fight too. He hid on the train. In Milwaukee he made his 3 brothers promise not to tell his age. He said he was 18 and was accepted. Two eeks late when they found out his true age he was mustered out. In Milwaukke, while waiting to be sent home, he saw a booth asking men to serve in the Canadian Army. He again enlisted and served two years in Germany with the Canadian Army. He returned to Canada and married there and never returned to Little Chute.
