  Lake Country Report Aug. 19, 1954 MRS. KATHERINE WEBER DIED AT HARTFORD HOSPITAL. Merton-Mrs. Katherine Weber, 87 a resident here since 1890 died Monday morning at St. Joseph's hospital, Hartford, following a long illness. Funeral services were held this morning from Kurtz funeral home to St. Charles Catholic church, Hartland, with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Weber was the widow of Math Weber who died in 1944. She was born in Ashford, Fond du Lac County on Feb. 9, 1867. She was one of the co-founders of the Merton Birthday Club which was started in 1905 when a group of friends surprised her on her birthday. She was the oldest member at the time of her death. Survivors include two sons, William A. and Martin C. of Merton, the latter the founder of the Land of Lakes baseball league; one sister, Mrs. Lena Thelan, Ashford; one brother, Martin Berg, Edgar; 2 daughters in law, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
