- Paul J. Wochenske, 70, Green Bay, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at his cottage. He was born Feb. 18, l934, in Green Bay, to Edward and Blanche (Craanen) Wochenske. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in l952.
Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army. In 1958, he married Rosemary Simon at St. Willebrord Catholic Church. In 1960, he joined the Green Bay Fire Department. He retired in l989 with the rank of Captain.
Paul loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Pine Ridge Lake and he also enjoyed woodworking. Mr. and Mrs. Wochenske had been long time members of St. Agnes Parish. Paul had served as Treasurer of the parish Athletic Club.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; six children and their spouses, Mark and Lisa Wochenske, Lena, Tom and Bobbie Wochenske, Appleton, Kathy Wochenske, Green Bay, Ellen and Jerry Green, Green Bay, Chuck Wochenske and his special friend, Cheryl Wilson, Abrams, and Dan and Kristin Wochenske, Denmark; six grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Zachary, Abby, Taylor and Ryan; a step-grandchild, Dustin; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Wochenske, Baraboo; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Gary Larscheid, Suamico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a step-mother, Lillian Wochenske.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday followed by the Fire Fighter's Bell Service. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
