    Notes
    • Esther L. Piontek, 91, died Sunday, September 28, 2008. Esther was born on April 1, 1917 in Green Bay to the late Fred and Catherine (Verheyden) Allen. She attended St. Francis Xavier Cathedral School and was a graduate of East High School in Green Bay. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Philip Church. Esther is survived by Mark (Christine) Piontek and their children Molly (Scott) Paradise, Aaron, Heather and Jenny Hickey, Christine (John) Quinlan and their children Sean (Jill) Quinlan, and Katie, and Michael "Mick" (Mary) Piontek and their children Jeremy, Joel and Anne. In addition, she is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Emma and Sydney Paradise, as well as Esther´s sisters Gladys Gantz and LaVira (Keith) DuBois, sister-in-law Betty Allen, brother-in-law Richard (Pat) Piontek; many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Esther was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, sister Lillian, and brothers Robert, Arthur, Tom, and Wilson; brothers-in-law Julias Oleksy and George Gantz; and sisters-in-law Joyce, Rose, and Rita Allen. Esther was a wonderful wife, loving mother, kind friend and good neighbor. She loved all her grandchildren and taught them card games, yahtzee, and how to find humor everyday in life´s experiences. She enjoyed making cakes, popcorn balls and pepperneus cookies. Church bazaars, relatives and neighbors were recipients of her treats. Esther loved to socialize and could cheer anyone up. Her positive attitude and humor was an inspiration to all who knew her. A quote she once read and especially liked was "Wisdom comes through trial and error. Some people are slow learners. Give them time. God´s not finished with them yet, they´re still growing. He´s bringing all of us home to heaven in His own way and His own pace. So be patient. One day all the tears will be wiped away, and all the fences will be mended." Friends may call on Wednesday at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 312 Victoria Street from 10am to 12 noon. Mass of Christian Burial 12 noon at the church with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be sent to Esther´s family at www.prokowall.com. Special thanks to her sister Gladys, nieces Mary Kay (Dave) Haug, Mary Ann Alexi; neighbor Bernice; and the staff of Bishop´s Court and Heartland Hospice for their continual care and support.
