John J. De Bruin
"Bubbles"
Little Chute
Age 55, died Thursday, December 4, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 9, 1948 in Appleton; son of the Henry and Laura Boser De Bruin. John married Juanita R. Shuckhart December 4, 1971 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly. Mr. De Bruin was employed at Appleton Papers for 37 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served with the 7th infantry in South Korea. John was an avid fisherman, bowling and being with his wife, children and grandson.
John is survived by his wife Juanita; three children, Don De Bruin and fiancee Carrie Golden, Kaukauna; Lorraine Ann [Steven] Haack and Mary Beth De Bruin, both of Little Chute; four grandchildren; brothers, Robert [Janice], Kaukauna; Gordon, Carter, Oklahoma; Lloyd and fiancee Janice Jansen, Little Chute; Harold [Carolyn], Pulcifer;
Victor De Bruin and fiancee Jean Moser, Freedom; sisters, Dorothy Hawley, Seymour; Elaine [Casey] Van Cuyk, Combined Locks; Judy [Jim] Menting, Little Chute; Genevieve Van Schyndel, and Evelyn [Martin] Van Schyndel, both of Kaukauna; brothers in-law and sisters in-law, Mary Ann De Bruin, Luxemberg; Virgie De Bruin, Appleton; Harold Shuckhart, Kaukauna; Donald [Joan] Shuckhart, Forest Junction; Mary [Dale] Arnoldussen, Agnes [Dennis] Hietpas, Margaret [Gary] Hoehne and Glen Frank, all of Kaukauna; Jaunita Guyette and Marge Kuntsman, both of Kaukauna; Doris Hoertsch and Joyce Boerdman, both of Menasha; Leola Lodas, Crandon; Edith Becker, Oshkosh; Dorothy [Dan] Haring, Tomahawk; nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lori Lee De Bruin-Haack, his parents, Henry and Laura De Bruin, mother and father in-law, Harold and Lorraine Shuckhart, brothers, Donald, Toby [Pat], Lee and Melvin De Bruin; sister, Clara [Roman] Simon; brothers and sisters in-law, Henry Van Schyndel, Chester Guyette, Marie Frank, Rosa Miller, Myrtle Hoks, Raymond Richard, Ernie and Robert Shuckhart.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, from 4-8 p.m. Monday and at the church from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of mass. A memorial fund has been established.
