    Dr. Peter P. Glasheen July 21, 1943 — June 5, 2023 Appleton
    Dr. Pete Glasheen, aged 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton, on June 5, 2023. He was born on July 21, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was proud of his 100% Oneida heritage.

    Pete attended Wilson Junior High School and Appleton Senior High School, where he competed in Track and Field, most notably the 440 relay. He excelled in Golden Glove Boxing Championships across the region. Pete won the National Letter Carrier Award and travelled to Washington DC, New York, Niagara Falls, and was able to meet President Nixon. After high school he attended the University of Wisconsin Madison and pledged to Theta Delta Chi Fraternity. Pete finished his Bachelors of Science at New York University, received his Masters in Counseling from the University of Humanistic Studies, and got his Doctor of Psychology at the San Diego University of Integrative Studies.

    Pete was the President and Creative Director of Pete Glasheen Advertising, headquartered out of New York City with offices in Los Angeles. Later on, he worked as a psychologist in San Diego, California. In addition to working as a licensed psychologist, Pete provided counseling and therapy to police departments, high schools, children’s hospitals, religious organizations, YMCAs, and various substance/alcohol abuse programs throughout Southern California. Pete returned to Appleton in the summer of 2019. He reunited with family, friends, and children of classmates while rediscovering and enjoying his hometown.

    Pete enjoyed traveling, politics, taking long walks, and reading books about everything. He loved to play golf, and played in various amateur golf tournaments across Southern CA, including the San Clemente Championship. He served a term as President of the Exchange Club of San Clemente.

    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elijah and Melinda Johns, and Ross and Regina Glasheen; mother, Excelda Schommer; father, Joseph Glasheen; and long-time companion, Mary Carpowich.

    He is survived by his children, Lisa Larson, David Glasheen, Daniel Moder, and Michelle Nash; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Abigail, Chloe, and Eddie; and sister, Deborah Meyer.

    Pete’s remains will find a final resting place on his favorite golf course, overlooking the sea, in Santa Barbara, California.
