    • Mary Lou Pooler, age 83, Shiocton, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. She was born in Antigo, on February 28, 1932, daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Schultz) Fellner. The family moved to Shiocton at a young age, where she attended school, married, and had her family and has lived there ever since. On November 7, 1953, Mary Lou was united in marriage to Selden "Selly" Pooler at St. Denis Parish; he preceded her in death in 2009. Mary Lou was a stay at home mom and raised her children with impeccable care. Mary Lou worked at school in Shiocton as a cook during her kids school aged years. She also continued her work and passion as a stay at home grandma taking care of all 3 of her grandchildren. Mary Lou was a wonderful cook and many times she would serve dinner after much time in the kitchen (usually with out a recipe) and say "its something I just threw together and something to eat". Mary Lou loved spending time up north at Boulder Lake and also enjoyed trips to the casino. Mary Lou enjoyed attending as many of her grandchildren's sporting events starting with T-Ball all the way thru college. She is survived by a daughter, Sara (Dino) Heinemeyer, Shiocton; a son Jay Pooler, Shiocton; a sister pat Miller, Appleton; 3 grandchildren, Mitchell, Jacob and Laken and a great grandchild Alexis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother-in-law Glen Johnson, a nephew Randy Johnson, a brother Dick Fellner and a sister Beverly Johnson.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Dennis Catholic Church, Shiocton, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
