Raymond H. Schumacher, 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Ray was born on September 17, 1938 to John and Agnes (Kadinger) Schumacher in Little Chute. He was married to the late Darlene Leitermann on May 6, 1959 and later married Darhl Knaack on April 27, 1969. Ray worked as a carpenter and was a proud member of the Carpenters Union #955. He was a fine craftsman, everything had to be within 1/8 of an inch. No trim work, that makes it look like you are trying to hide something. He enjoyed cars, motorcyles and collecting many things. Camping at the cabin in the woods by Iola, the Iola car show, and going to Tomahawk made many special memories. He also enjoyed gardening and the garden seemed to grow larger every year. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Ray is survived by his children; Robin (Terry) Rathsack, Bob (Lynne) Schumacher, Shawn (Kathy) Schumacher, Sonya (Kevin) Prelipp, Sheryl (Terry) Pierce, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Cindy Schumacher, siblings; Irene (Daniel) Horn, Delores (Ronald) Sedo, Margaret Strutz, Joseph (Cindy) Schumacher, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents John and Agnes Schumacher, a son Scott, his wife Darhl Schumacher, and three siblings.
The funeral service for Ray will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
