    • Douglas J. Longsine Sr., age 67, of Kaukauna, passed away unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, August 24, 2005. He was born June 7, 1938, in Oconto, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Inez (Gunderson) Longsine. Douglas married Joyce De Bruin at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, and she preceded him in death in 1998. Douglas served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He worked at Badger Northland until his retirement. Douglas was an extreme high school sports fan and loved men's fast pitch softball games. His pride and joy was his grandson, Brady, his "Little Chum" taking care of him since he was six months.

      Survivors include his mother, Inez Longsine, Oconto; son, Douglas Jr. "Gunner" (Debra) Longsine of Kimberly and their son, Brady; brothers: Eugene (Bev) of Kaukauna and Richard of Green Bay; sisters: Donna (Tom) Berg of Pewaukee and Loraine (Pete) Burby of Crivitz.

      He was also preceded in death by his father.

      Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the Verkuilen Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will be conducted by Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258 of Little Chute following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
