- Raymond R. Eberle, age 80, a resident of Manitowoc, died Friday evening, June 12, 2015, at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Ray was born on September 18, 1934, in Omro, a son of the late Ralph and Josephine (Geib) Eberle. He was a graduate of Omro High School and earned his degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Ray was employed as a seed researcher and inventor with Illinois Foundation Seed Co. for many years. While at Illinois Foundation Seed he invented and patented the Accu-count 100. Ray also operated a dairy farm in Maple Grove after his time with Illinois Foundation Seed. In 1989, he married Melodie Ballinger in Champagne, Ill., she preceded him in death on November 15, 2014. He enjoyed spending time woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his five children: Atty. Mary Eberle and Mike Clark, Madison, Atty. Elizabeth Eberle, Madison, Jim (Carol) Eberle, Calif., Nancy Eberle and Paul Terranova, Madison and Bill (Melissa) Eberle, Omro; four grandchildren: Joseph and Benjamin Terranova, Sam Eberle and Lindsey Eberle; and a sister: Lorraine Eberle, Oshkosh.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant brother and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier, with burial to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maple Grove.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi Parish on Grand from 1:30 p.m. until the time of Mass at 2:00 p.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.
Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, is assisting the Eberle family with arrangements.
