- Florence M. Salm, 74, of 312 Bonk St., Chilton, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 1988 at Methodist Hospital in Madison.
She was born Oct. 15, 1913 in Chilton, the daughter of the late H. R. and Margaret (Callahan) Schmidlkofer.
In 1938, she was married to William McGrath and in 1976, she was married to Martin Salm Sr. Both husbands preceded her in death.
She and her husband William, owned and operated the McGraths Tavern in Chilton, and she worked at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital for 17 years.
She was a member of St. Augustines Catholic Church, Chilton, and its Christian Mothers Society; the Third Order of St. Francis and the Legion of Mary.
Survivors include a son, Patrick McGrath of Sparta, NJ; two granddaughters, Cindi and Kathi McGrath; a sister, Mrs. Don (Mary Elizabeth) Mischo of Edina, MN; two brothers, William Schmidlkofer of Madison and Paul Schmidlkofer of Milwaukee; many step-children and step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Jackie, and a brother, LeRoy Schmidlkofer preceded her in death.
A concelebrated Mass was celebrated at St. Augustines Catholic Church, Chilton. The Rev. Jack Rinaldo SJR of the Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh, and Rev. David Christel, pastor of St. Augustines were the celebrants. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
