67, was born July 5, 1941 in Kimberly, WI. Mike passed away peacefully at his Scottsdale residence on January 27, 2009 after a long battle with lung cancer. We lost a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and best friend! Survivors include his wife Debbie, children Rich (Leah) Winfrey, Lori Winfrey, David Wiegand, Stephanie Wiegand, 2 grandchildren, sister Dianne (John) Baczynski, brother Pat (Brenda) Wiegand and many loving nieces and nephews. Mike was very proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964, then worked as a pipefitter at Motorola for 39 years at the 52nd St. plant. He retired in 2001 and spent the remainder of his retirement doing the things he loved with family and friends, such as camping, ATC riding and his little dog, Maggie. Mike was truly a kind and gentle man who never met a stranger – always lending a helping hand. We were all so blessed to have had him in our lives. Mike was preceded in death by his father that he loved and never knew, PFC Frank H. Wiegand, killed in action in 1945, his mother Evelyn (Herk) Herm and sisters Judy and Sally Wiegand.
