  Avery Bowman, 73, Fond du Lac, died Friday night after a lengthy illness. He was born in Stockbridge in May and attended Grade and high school there. He was married to Ann Ecker of Sherwood, 45 years ago. He farmed at Sherwood before moving to Fond du Lac where he was employed. He is survived by his wife Ann, two sons, Gerald, Oshkosh, and Carl, Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a sister, Lena Koller of R. 1, Hilbert. Services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac Tuesday. Burial was at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Chilton Times Journal – October 19, 1978
