- FUNERAL SET FOR RIPON RESIDENT, 78
Robert Douglas Fleming, 78, of 530 Howard St., Ripon, died at 3 a.m. today at Ripon Municipal Hospital, after an illness of three weeks.
Born Feb. 24, 1889, at Marinette, he was the son of Alexander and Susan Clark Fleming. He was educated in Wausau Schools, was a blacksmith for 35 years at Allenton and Knowles, and had lived for the last 26 years in Ripon. He had worked at the egg plant and later at Western Condensing Co., and Silver Creek Canning Co. He had been in the armed service for three years and was a member of the Ripon Odd Fellows for 22 years. He married Lottie Merryfield on June 15, 1911.
Mr. Fleming is survived by his widow; one son, Gordon Fleming, Fond du Lac; one daughter, Mrs. Carl Meinke, Ripon; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Butzin Funeral Home, Rev. Harley C. W. Tretow officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon.
Friends may call from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Odd Fellow services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
