- Mrs. John P. (Loretta) Jonet, 70, Humboldt, died Saturday evening, June 3, 2000 at her home following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 20, 1929 in Casco to the late Leonard and Annie Vandenplas Heim.
On Oct. 5, 1946, Loretta married John P. Jonet at St. Mary's Church, Humboldt. Loretta farmed all of her life. During the summer months she cleaned Luxemburg-Casco High School. Her love for the outdoors was obvious as she enjoyed her work at They's Orchard and going for long walks. She was a frequent craft sale shopper and a creator of many ceramic masterpieces.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, John. Her children: Gary and Deana Jonet, De Pere, and their family: Sherry Kelly LaPointe. Larry and Cindy Jonet, Athelstane, and their family: Tina Andy Mohr, Kacy Jonet, Sara Hujet, Bob Hujet. Dan and Lisa Jonet, Humboldt, and their family: Jessica, Christine and Corey Jonet. One great-grandchild, Kayla Mohr. Two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Laverne and Arthur Dart, Casco; Urania and Robert Schwabenlander, New Franken. Special friends: Tom and Darlene Balck. Six brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law: Norman and Hilde-garde Jonet, Alvin and Veronica Jonet, Harvey and Gladys Jonet, Millie and Ted Ducat, John Falish, George and Kitty Ratajczak, and Betty Jonet.
Loretta was preceded in death by: one infant brother, Lyle. Five brothers-in-law: Bernard Jonet, Tony Jonet, Lester Marchant, Edward Derenne and Marvin Phillips. Four sisters-in-law: Marion Jonet, Leona Derenne, Verna Falish and Germaine Ratajczak. Friends called at McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Sugar Bush. Prayer service was at 7 p.m. Monday. Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the church with Rev. Dean Dombroski officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.--McMahon Funeral Home
