- Ida M. Lemere Shiocton, age 83, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2007, at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton. Ida was born on September 9, 1923, in Appleton, daughter of the late Abraham and Ida (Spice) Brower. On July 7, 1926, she was united in marriage to Carroll F. Lemere at St. Therese in Appleton. He preceded her in death in 1993. Ida loved making arts and crafts for her family. She was a great cook and loved family get-togethers. She also enjoyed going camping. Ida was very fond of her two dogs, Pepper I and Pepper II. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and was involved in Christian Mothers.
Ida is survived by two daughters: Nancy Wheeler, Shiocton; Lori (Mark) Van Straten, Appleton; six sons: Jim (Bev), Shiocton; Gary, New London; Larry (Mary), Black Creek; Ron, Appleton; Brian (Deb) Appleton; and Rick (Barb), New London. Two brothers: Robert Brower, Appleton; and Don Brower, North Carolina. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; a special friend Joyce Alt; and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband Ida is preceded in death by a sister Rosie, mother and father in-law Edward and Ida Lemere, a son in-law DuWayne Wheeler, a sister in-law Lucille Brower, and a brother in-law Oswald Lemere.
Funeral Mass for Ida will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton with Fr. John Kastenholz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Denis/Bovina Cemetery, Bovina Township. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
