Alvina "Alvie" DeBruin

Devoted to her family and community, Alvie unexpectedly passed away in her sleep Thursday morning March 14,1996. She was 67. Alvie served as a Supervisor on the Outagamie Board for 17 years and was unopposed in seeking another term in Tuesday's election. Alvie was born April 21, 1928 in Freedom, to Lester and Ellen (Arnoldussen) Huss (both deceased).
She has been the loving wife of Eugene J. DeBruin, son of Joseph and Marie (Welhouse) DeBruin (both deceased) and stepson of William Walsh (also deceased, since their marriage on August 12,1950. She was the loving and giving mother of their two children; David (Lynne), Milwaukee and Debra (special friend, Mike Van Asten ), Kimberly. Alvie was a loving, energetic and joyful grandmother to Dave and Lynne's children, Rrica, Chris, and Laura, often traveling with them to Great America, Bay Beach, and even Mexico. Alvie meant everything to her grandchildren and she will be greatly missed.
Her brothers; Archie ( Maggie ) Huss, Tigerton, Clifford (Elaine ) Huss, and Harvey (Elaine ) Huss, both of Kaukauna and James ( Barbara ) Huss, Appleton, her sisters-in-law; Ruth and Sharon Huss, both of Kaukauna.
A memorial service including the American Legion Auxiliary Past President memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16,1996 with visitation today, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to the hour of service at the funeral home.
