- Lloyd L. Bowers, 71, Wrightstown, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 13, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 29, 1939 in Kaukauna, WI, son of the late Henry and Cecelia (Schampers) Bowers. He farmed all his life on the family farm in the town of Kaukauna, retiring in 1990. After retirement, Lloyd worked part-time for MEE for 7 years. Lloyd married Mary Jane VanSchyndel on April 27, 1963 in Kaukauna. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown, serving on the cemetery board for many years. He enjoyed bowling for nearly 50 years in Wrightstown, and also liked to hunt, snowmobile in his younger years, play cards, loved going to D&G Restaurant with his friends every morning for coffee, and loved attending his two granddaughters' sporting events.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 47 years, Mary Jane, Wrightstown; children: Lee (Cindy) Bowers, Wrightstown; Linda Bowers, Wrightstown; and Lenny Bowers, Greenleaf; two cherished granddaughters, Hannah and Taylor; three brothers: Bud (Eleanor) Bowers, Clarence (Nancy) Bowers, Norman (Margaret "Mugs") Bowers; three sisters: Arlene Blair, Mary Hermes, and Roseanne (Bob) Bastian; sister-in-law, Ann Bowers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Evelyn VanSchyndel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen Lemke, Carol (Bill) Verhagen, Diane (Bob) Oudenhoven, Sherri (Dan) Nagan; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Lyle; a brother, Larry; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lorraine (Jim) Shillcox, Millie (Roy) Lamers; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe Hermes, Cletus Blair, Ron (Mary) VanSchyndel; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, December 17, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown. A Parish Prayer Service will conclude the visitation. Visitation will continue on Saturday at church from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken and Msgr. John Schuh concelebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown, is assisting the family.
