- Weber, Edith (Kirkdoffer) 1989 Appleton Post Crescent dated March 12, 1989; Edith Mae Kirkdoffer, Mrs. Herbert Weber, aged 65, died Friday, March 10th, 1989, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a 15-year battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She was born April 16th, 1923, in Cushman Arkansas, the daughter of the late John and Alice (Sandefour) Kirkdoffer. Edith was happy to come to Kaukauna in 1946, when she married her husband, Herb. She was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital as an obstetrics technician for 20 years. She was an avid bridge player. A very important part of her life in recent years was reading to and playing games with her grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Ladies of Holy Cross and the Lady Knights of Columbus. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Herbert; a son, Kirk Weber of New Ulm, Minnesota; two daughters and two sons-in-laws, Alice and Tom Rasmussen of West Bend, Ina and Rick Wenzler of Port Washington; 11 grandchildren, Ryan and Mathias Weber, Jim, Carrie, Noah, Benjamin, Sarah and Jacob Rasmussen, Jena, Hilary and Joseph Wenzler; four brothers and four sisters in law; her twin brother, Elmer and Virginia Kirk of Batesville, Ark.; Edgar and Vera Kirk, Jonesboro, Ark.; Thurston and Margie Kirk, Morrilton, Ark.; and Robert and Margaret Kirk of Hughes Springs, Texas; a sister and brother in law, Ina and Ben Sowell of Olive Branch, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Helen Kirk. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the arthritic foundation.
