- Weber, Herbert J Appleton Post Crescent dated 8/25/1997, Herbert J. Weber, age 76, died Saturday, August 23rd, 1997 at Peabody Manor, Appleton. He was born December 25th, 1920 into Kaukauna, the son of the late Mathias and Anna (Romenesko) Weber. Herb graduated from Kaukauna high-school in 1939. During and after high school he had been employed by a malt shop in Kaukauna. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in European theater with a 95th Infantry Division and was the recipient of the Bronze star. Herb married Edith Mae Kirk on June 29th, 1946. He started Webers Furnace works and operated that business until retirement. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 1033, and the Allouez Assembly #1199 4th degree. He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Kirk and Judy Weber, of Bellwood, Alabama, two daughters and a son-in-law: Alice Rasmussen of Kaukauna; Ina and Rick Wenzler, of Port Washington; 11 grandchildren: Ryan and Mathias Weber, Jim, Carrie, Noah, Ben, Sarah, and Jacob Rasmussen, Jena, Hilary and Joe Wenzler; a brother and three sisters in law: Charlie and Dorothy Weber, of Appleton; Mona Weber, of Kaukauna; Florence Weber , of Kaukauna; a sister and brother in law, Verona and Syl VanSchyndel, of Appleton, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae in 1989; four brothers: Mike, Ed, Louis (Elizabeth) and Nick (Edna) Weber; three sisters: Theresa (Tony) Kons, Mayme (Carl) Specht, Katherine (Joe) West. The mass of resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 27th, 1997 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Father David Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross cemetery.
