Van Schyndel, Verona Verona Van Schyndel, age 94, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Brewster Village. She was born on September 8, 1912, in Kaukauna to the late Matthias and Anna (Romenesko) Weber. On June 14, 1932, she was united in marriage to Sylvester Van Schyndel, and they shared 68 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2000.
She was a charter member of St. Pius X. Catholic Church, the Lady Elks, St. Elizabeth Auxiliary, and United Commercial Travel. Verona enjoyed playing golf at Ridgeway Country Club, playing cards, especially bridge, and loved traveling.
She is survived by her children: Phyllis (Gabe) Gabrielson, Appleton; Ruth (Francis) Leahy, Appleton; Joseph (Kit) Van Schyndel, Appleton; grandchildren: Janet (Clark) Kreider, Dee Wais, Sara (Joseph) Daniel, Ann (David) Hovell, Steven (Meg) Leahy, Karen (Dan) Suminski, Peter Leahy, Robert (Shellie) Leahy, Deborah (Joe) Welch, Joanne (Jim) Coates, Victoria (Ross) Chisholm, Susan (Jim) VerVoort, Jack (Jenny) Van Schyndel; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Mildred and Florence Weber.
In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Sylvester, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janet; brothers: Nicholas, Louis, Edward, Michael, Herbert, Charles; sisters: Mary Ann Specht, Kate West, Tess Kons.
Funeral Mass for Verona will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 12 noon at St. Pius X Catholic Church (500 West Marquette Street) with Father Tom Farrell officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass at church. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Little Chute. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful people of Angelus Retirement Community and Brewster Village for the loving care they've shown for our mom.
