- Joe E. Goebel, 79, of Texas City, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 23, 2010.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City with Father Tom Ponzini and Rev. Tom Crowe officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
Mr. Goebel was born November 16, 1930 in Sealy, TX. He had retired from Amoco as a supervisor. Mr. Goebel had a passion for gardening.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Aiko Goebel.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Goebel; son Michael Goebel and wife, Gaye; step sons Ken Ehman and wife, Debbie, Tim Ehman and wife, Pam, Brent Ehman and wife, Lindsey, John Schmidt and wife, Gigi, and J. B. Schmidt and his wife, Claudie; a brother, Vernon Dean Goebel and wife, Martha; sisters Jackie Brandes and Loyce Clements; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to thank AMED Hospice for all their wonderful care.
