- MarJean M. Schroeder, age 80, of Greenville, passed into the loving care of her gracious Lord on Monday, February 14, 2011, at Heartwood Homes in Appleton. She was born on August 6, 1930, in New London, daughter of the late Harry & Hilda (Doell) Schroeder. On June 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Harland Schroeder at Bethany Lutheran Church in Appleton. Prior to her marriage, MarJean worked at Wisconsin Telephone and AT&T. After her marriage, she and her husband farmed for 8 years and she also worked at Hortonville Canning Company, Louie's Supper Club, and she retired from Zaugs Vending in 1994 following 26 years of service. MarJean enjoyed traveling, fishing, sewing, cooking, gardening, playing cards, bowling and going out for breakfast with friends.
She is survived by her husband, Harland. A daughter, Karen (Joe) Berken, Combined Locks. A son, Rick (Becky) Schroeder, Fond du Lac. Eight grandchildren, Josh (Jen) Berken, Heather (Mike) Geer, Nick (Jen) Berken, Steph Berken, Ryan Schroeder, Nikki Schroeder, Jared Schroeder, Eric Schroeder. Five great-grandchildren, Ariana Juarez, Finley Berken, Ava Geer, Kai Berken, Harlow Berken. Two sisters-in-law, Marion Schroeder and Delores Schroeder. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Ronald Schroeder, and nephew, Jack Schroeder. Mother and Father in-law, Elmer and Mabel Schroeder, and sister-in-law, Ruby Schroeder.
The funeral service for MarJean will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville with Rev. David Scharf officiating. Entombment will be in the Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum in Appleton at 1:45 p.m on Thursday. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heartwood Homes, Appleton, Esara Hospice of Green Bay.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
