- John N. Basler, age 56, of Chilton, passed away following a short illness on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah. He was born September 24, 1951, son of Delphine (Nadler) and the late John G. Basler. He married Patricia Buechel on November 25, 1972. He was a member of Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ in Kaukauna. John enjoyed his yearly Canadian fishing expedition and worked for MB Company for 33 years until August 2006 when he retired due to illness.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years: Pat; a son: Jason (Cherie) Basler; two daughters: Melissa (Reg) Campsall, Stephanie Basler; two grandchildren: Elijah & Josiah Campsall; mother: Delphine Basler; two brothers: Leroy (Sandy) Basler, Dennis Basler, a sister: Marlene (Dave) Hemauer; two sisters-in-law: Margaret (Bill) Feider, Donna (Allen) Karls; three brothers-in-law: Paul (Pat) Buechel, Marty (Arty) Buechel, Alan Buechel; and his beloved dog: Bandit. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, church family, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John; his father and mother-in-law: Al & Theresa Buechel; and a niece and nephew: Denise & Donald Basler.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Jerry Hubert officiating. Entombment will follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008.
