    • Melvin M. DeBruin Appleton Age 83, died on Monday, November 22, 1999, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born in Freedom on October 15, 1916, to the late Henry and Minnie (Wellhouse) DeBruin. On June 30, 1938, he married Virginia Goffard. Melvin was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and the AARP. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed family outings and vacations. He will be sadly missed by his wife of over 60 years, Virginia children, Carol (Paul) Farah, Neenah Roger (Ruth), Appleton Thomas (Nancy), Combined Locks Virginia (Jeff) Zartner, Appleton sisters, Genevieve VanSchyndel and Evelyn (Martin) VanSchyndel, both of Kaukauna brothers, Bob (Janice), Kaukauna Lloyd, Kimberly Gordy, Oklahoma Harold, Crivitz John (Nita), Little Chute Victor, Combined Locks half sisters, Dorothy Hawley, Black Creek Elaine (Casey) VanCuyk, Combined Locks, and Judith (Jim) Menting, Little Chute sister-in-law, Maryann DeBruin, Luxemburg 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, November 26, 1999, at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Ave., with Father Daniel Gilsdorf officiating. The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at church.
