- Kaukauna - Karen Geyso, age 75 of Kaukauna, passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, November 27, 2018. Karen was born in Appleton on February 1, 1943, daughter of the late Robert and Marian (Coenen) Driessen and was a 1961 graduate of the Kaukauna High School. On May 11, 1968, she married William Geyso at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna, he preceded her in death in 1999.
Karen was a wonderful and caring woman who was very outgoing. Her gift of gab helped her to make friends everywhere she went, especially in the cat foot aisle at the store. She loved animals and enjoyed excursions with her dear friend Dorothy Lamers. Together they took on shopping, trips to the casino, going out to dinner, or a random road trip. More than anything, her grandchildren were her pride and joy - she loved them dearly.
Karen is survived by three children and their families: Eric (Jenny) Geyso and their children Griffin and Grady Geyso; Alison (Dave) Spencer and their children Caden and Kiefer Lambie; and Abbie (Luke) Quella, their daughter Taylor Geyso, and Karen's great-granddaughter, Eden Geyso. Other survivors include her sisters-in-law: Betty Driessen, Christine Driessen, Lois Geyso, Ruth Anderson, Mary Ellen Nienhaus, and Judy Geyso; a brother-in-law: Doug (Donna) Geyso; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Geyso, her parents Robert and Marian Driessen, her in-laws Elmer and Myrtle Geyso; brothers Robert Driessen, Richard Driessen, and Daryl Driessen; brothers-in-law: Robert Geyso, Richard Geyso, John Anderson, and Howard South; a sister-in-law: Marlene South; and a niece, Kelly South.
A prayer service for Karen will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2018 at the Fargo Funeral Home, located at 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna. Private burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund to honor Karen's memory is being established.
The family would like to offer their special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Schoening for all her years of caring for Karen. And to her cousin Jane Driessen for all her help caring for Karen during this difficult time. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
