Metoxen, Ronald G. "Ronnie" Ronald Metoxen, 65, Little Chute, peacefully took the Lord's hand and went home after fighting a courageous battle with diabetes and renal failure Monday, April 9, 2007, with his family by his side. He was born May 1, 1941, in Tomah, son of Freeman and Hazel (Smith) Metoxen, Sr. Ron married Carole Lynn Stadler on May 28, 1966, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, where he was also a member. He was employed at Rohloff Mfg., Kaukauna, for over 30 years. Mr. Metoxen was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, especially the time spent at the cottage on Kelly Lake.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carole; daughters: Lori Metoxen, Green Bay; Jaime Metoxen and her sons, Deven and Ryan, Seymour; son, Ryan Metoxen and his special friend, Heidi, Little Chute; mother, Hazel (Metoxen) Noble, De Pere; father- and mother-in-law, Robert (Leone) Stadler, Suring; brothers and sisters: Dewy (Dorothy) Metoxen, Chicago; Gary (Pat), Roger and Daryle Metoxen, all of De Pere; Rosemary Metoxen, Kaukauna; Allen (Toni) Metoxen, Kansas; Michael Metoxen, Missouri; Patricia Metoxen, California; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Janet (Michael) Mitchell, Antigo; Debbie (Thomas) Yingling, Appleton; Thomas (Lynn) Stadler, Menasha; Jay (Nancy) Stadler, Sherwood; his dog, Inde.
He was preceded in death by his father, Freeman Metoxen, Sr.; brothers: Gordon Metoxen, Freeman Metoxen, Jr.; sister, Janice Metoxen; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Rose Smith; paternal grandparents, William B. (Mary) Metoxen; his beloved Shelties, Tyler and Kodi.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Rev. James Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of the mass. A memorial has been established.
Ronald's family wishes to extend a special thank you to: Debbie Yingling, Henrietta and Frances Cornelius, Sr. Dorothy and the staff at St. Paul Elder Services along with Dialysis Care Center for their loving and wonderful care. A thank you to our mother, who lovingly cared for our Dad during his illness.
Dad, we were so glad to have the most dedicated and loving husband and father, ever. We love you and you will always live in our hearts and in your stories in our memories.
