    • Arlene Ohm, age 90, went home to be with her precious husband and her Lord on Monday, January 2, 2012, at Sterling House in Neenah. Arlene was born in Kaukauna, WI on March 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Eva (Bartz) Schomisch. She was united in marriage on January 5, 1946 to Raymond C. Ohm, upon his return from WWII duty, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kaukauna. They enjoyed 61 wonderful years of marriage and lived their entire lives in Neenah, WI. Ray preceded her in death in 2007. Arlene grew up in Kaukauna and worked for Kaukauna Machine Corp. for a few years. Then she worked for Kimberly Clark, field service division as a statistician until she retired in 1956 to raise her family. She was a former member of the Rose Rebekah Lodge and served as a past Noble Grand and district President. Music was a big part of her life and she enjoyed playing the piano for various groups and was a substitute organist at church. Arlene was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Neenah. She loved volunteering, particularly at church. She was a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible school teacher and was active in the Adult Fellowship group. Arlene especially loved singing in the church choirs where her tenor voice was needed. Bookwork always gave her a challenge.
In 1968 Arlene and Ray, with his brother Karl, built a restaurant in Manitowoc which they operated until it was sold in 1988. Arlene was one of the original organizers of the Spring Road Badgers 4-H club, serving as general leader, project leader and district officer during her 12 year tenure. She was very proud of all the honors her group achieved at fairs and competitions. After Ray retired, many enjoyable years of camping were done plus overseas vacation trips. Arlene loved craft work, cooking and playing cards with family and friends.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Bill) Haga, Neenah; grandsons: Brian (Crystal) Hansen, Neenah; Eric Hansen, Colorado; Brad (Donna) Haga, Vancouver, Canada; Billy Haga, Milwaukee and Brent Haga, Milwaukee; great grandchildren: Cameron and Rowan Hansen, Neenah; sisters: Helen (Floyd) Peterson, Arizona and Lois (Marvin) Trettin, Kaukauna; sister-in-law, Helen Ohm, Wauwatosa; plus many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents, Nicholas and Eva Schomisch; a son, Nathan Ohm, California in 1990; a brother, Donald Schomisch, Kaukauna in 1940.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at Faith United Methodist Church, 1025 Tullar Rd. with Rev. Mary Council-Austin presiding. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established for Faith Church and the Cancer Society .
The family wishes to thank the staff at Sterling House for their care and compassion for Arlene the past 7 months.
