Notes - Eugene William Rhinehold Boettcher, 90, of New Bern, died Friday, Dec. 30 at Carebridge Assisted Living Center. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Pacific during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 24 and of Bethany Christian Church.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4 at Bethany Christian Church, with the Rev. Lee Kirkman officiating. Boettcher will be laid to rest at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
Surviving him is a daughter, Sandra Lee Boettcher of Milwaukee, Wis.; a granddaughter and a great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Church. Friends can sign the online guest book.
