- Dorothy R. Verdegan 95 of Ladysmith died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Ladysmith Care & Rehab.
Dorothy was born on July 7, 1919 in Chetek to Carl and Agnes Rowe of Ladysmith. She moved about Wisconsin and some western states. As a child she settled in South Milwaukee until the time of her marriage in 1947. Then she made her home in the Ladysmith area.
She married Raymond Verdegan in Milwaukee on august 9, 1947. They farmed for many years in the Rusk County area and she was known for her gardens and what they produced. She worked part-time at Webb's Army Store im ladysmith.
She bowled until she was 80 and played cribbage on various cribbage leagues for many years.
She loved attending family gatherings and she enjoyed the family card games.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Ladysmith and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She graduated from south Milwaukee High School in 1939.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents, her daughter Carol Verdegan who passed away in 2006 and her sister Betty Zajec.
A funeral service was held Saturday, March 21, at Hope Lutheran Church in Ladysmith with Pastor Dwight Hanson officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
