Age 62, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 15, 1996, at his home. He was born July 9, 1933, in the Town of Buchanan, the son of the late John A. and Elizabeth (Kline) Haen. Jack was a graduate of Kaukauna High School Class of 1951. He had served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jack married Patricia Verheyen on May 20, 1954, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown. Jack and his wife, Pat, are the owners and operators of Haen Meat Packing Inc., Kaukauna. Jack had started working in the meat business for his brother, Leo, when he was age 15. Jack and Pat purchased the family meat packing business from his brother Leo in 1975. He was actively involved In St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukauna, served on the board of the directors of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors, was vice president of the Kaukauna Lions Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1033 of Kaukauna. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pat; six children: Diane and Randy Smith, New Berlin, Sue and Tom Nack, Dan and Cindy Haen, John and Kathleen Haen, Tim and Martha Haen, Tom and Kim Haen, all of Kaukauna; 11 grandchildren: Jessica and Trish Smith, Tom and Jenny Nack, Amy and Nick Haen, Joseph Haen, Becky, Ben and Ally Haen, and Jordan Haen; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Leo Haen, Kaukauna, Bob and Frances Haen, Legend Lake, Ethel Haen, Kaukauna; four sisters and four brothers-in-law: Martha and Cyril Klister, Kaukauna, Irene Kempen, Appleton, Helen and Paul Lamers, Lucina and Norbert Schmidt, all of Kaukauna, Richard (Lori) Hartzheim, Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Haen; a sister, Rita Hartzheim, a sister-in-law, Gladys Haen, a brother-in-law, Merlin Kempen. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Father John Hephner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home from 4 until 9 on Sunday (TODAY) and after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home until the cortege leaves for the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Sunday evening. A memorial fund has been established for St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Jack's life was lived to the fullest daily. He took deep pride in his family and his business. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
