- Sugar Camp Pioneer Dies Today
Perry Donnelly, a resident of this area since the days when Rhinelander was a little lumber settlement, died at 9:30 o'clock this morning in his farm in Sugar Camp. he was 76 years old. a stroke, suffered last Friday came after another stroke last February, caused his death.
In the boon of the lumbering history , Mr. Donnelly was a blacksmith and worked in the woods for the Robbins Lumber Company and others in the industry. He broke a leg while working as a blacksmith about 30 years ago, and since that time had been a farmer in the town of Sugar Camp.
He was born in Marinette County, on Sept. 27, 1867, and came to Oneida County about 50 years ago. For 21 years he was a school clerk in the town of Sugar Camp.
Mr. Donnelly married the former Emma Rockwood in Rhinelander in 1911. he is survived by his widow and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert Schultz, Sugar Camp. Sugar Camp Funeral Services will be held Saturday afternoon in the Hildebrand Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery Rhinelander.
