- Bernice "Bunny" Kranig, 95, a resident of St. Frances Apartments in Eau Claire, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona.
She was born January 17, 1917 to Joseph and Hattie (Krumenauer) Meyer in the town of Seymour. She attended Oak Knoll School in Seymour and St. Mary's Academy in Altoona. She worked as a house maid and babysitter in Eau Claire prior to marrying Clarence Kranig on June 2, 1937. They lived in the town of Seymour where she was a stay-at-home mother and helped on the farm.
She was a life-long member of St. Bridget's Church where she taught CCD classes and cared for the Altar for many years. She was a member of the Altar Society.
Bunny enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards, and doing wood crafts with her husband. She was a talented painter and has pictures in many states. She was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by: one son, Roger (Elsie) of Colfax; five daughters, M. Jean (Richard) Anderson and Sue Sherman both of Chippewa Falls, Judy Provos of Fall Creek, Carolyn (Gary) Kinderman of Augusta, and Kathy (Fred) Koziol of Fullerton, Neb.; 22 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren 39 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren and many step great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, of 65 years, Clarence; her daughter, Marlene Provos; four sisters, Josephine Feeney, Mildred Hiess, Rose LeDuc and Edwina Kranig; and great grandson, Andrew Provos.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at St. Bridget's Church in the town of Seymour. Rev. Victor Inbaraj will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in
St. Bridget's Cemetery in Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls and one hour before the time of services on Thursday at St. Bridget's Church. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
